About Us

OUR MISSION

Project Elect gathers women of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to

first, educate members of the Church about the importance of women’s involvement in public service;

second, encourage and recruit each other to run for public office;

third, support each other in campaigning for and participating in public service.

OUR PURPOSE

We educate members of the Church about the importance of women’s involvement in public service.  We encourage Latter-day Saint women to run for office.  We are building a  community where women can support one another as they campaign for and participate in public service.

OUR APPROACH

There are many organizations that help women run for political office.  Project Elect stands out with our approach through a gospel perspective.

OUR NONPARTISAN COMMITMENT

Project Elect is a nonpartisan organization. Our efforts are focused on identifying and offering solutions to the barriers that women of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints face in running for office, and our only political objective is to increase the number of women in the Church who run for office. We do not consider a woman’s partisan status or the fact that her platform may align with a particular political party when we invite her to gather with us or benefit from Project Elect resources.
